What a wedding for Hannah and Rob! They chose to get married in early October and it was one of those beautiful mid-autumn weddings, still a bit of warmth around, sunny, dew on the grass, red berries on the trees – stunning. Hannah and her bride squad spent the night before the wedding and the ceremony morning at the nearby Park Farm Stables at Burnaston before setting off for the final bride preparations at West Mill. Park Farm is a group of 18th century pig, cow and horse stables that have been lovingly converted into a rustic barn type accommodation with 4 bedrooms.
We were then off to West Mill Wedding Venue which is a beautiful exclusive use wedding venue in Darley Abbey right on the River Derwent. Set over 4 floors of a former 18th century cotton mill it has many fantastic spaces including The Dressing Room, a unique ceremony space known as The Cotton Quarter with exposed brick, blue brick tiled floors and a cast iron ceiling all flooded with natural daylight streaming in from the wonderful Georgian windows. It really is one of the most distinctive wedding ceremony rooms imaginable! Add to this The Courtyard, The Spinning Room and The Gallery Room and you have one of the UKs most individual wedding venues – and I should know!
The thing I love most about West Mill is just the sheer amount of variety and options there are for wonderful photo opportunities. The whole venue was also beautifully decorated with some lovely styling to set the whole place off. I think along with Shustoke Barns, West Mill is one of my favourite Midland’s wedding venues.
Hannah and Rob’s wedding day was full of laughter, love and fun. A beautiful day spent with friends and family in a wonderful venue. I hope the following photos do it justice!
